Anti-ITM2B antibody produced in chicken is suitable forwestern blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Integral membrane protein 2B is a protein encoded by the ITM2B gene in humans. It is a type II transmembrane protein that is trasnported through the secretory pathway to the cell surface and is processed by furin and ADAM10 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain 10). The ITM2B protein binds to amyloid precursor protein to halt amyloid-β production and inhibits amyloid-β aggregation. It is linked to Alzheimer′s disease (AD). In early stages of AD, an increased deposition of this protein is found. Mutation in this gene is also associated with dementia or retinal disease.

Two different mutated forms of BRI2 protein are linked with familial British and Danish dementias, which present neuropathological similarities with Alzheimer's disease. BRI2 is a type II transmembrane protein that is trafficked through the secretory pathway to the cell surface

BRI2 protein binds amyloid precursor protein to halt amyloid-β production and inhibits amyloid-β aggregation via its BRICHOS-domain suggesting a link between BRI2 and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Here, we investigate the possible involvement of BRI2 in human AD pathogenesis. BRI2 containing

Inherited retinal diseases are a group of clinically and genetically heterogeneous disorders for which a significant number of cases remain genetically unresolved. Increasing knowledge on underlying pathogenic mechanisms with precise phenotype-genotype correlation is, however, critical for establishing novel therapeutic interventions
