General description

Good′s buffers are a set of 20 buffers that were prepared by Good et al. They are useful in biological and biochemical research. These buffers, which are zwitter-ionic compounds, have a pKa value between 6 and 8. Good′s buffers have low toxicity, are highly water-soluble, stable against pH changes, have hydrolytic and enzymatic stability and have less effects on biochemical reactions.[1]

  1. Hello. Im looking for a buffer highly capable under oily solutions.

    1. Water is a very polar molecule and oils are generally very nonpolar compounds, as they tend to be composed of long chain hydrocarbons. This means oil and water are generally immiscible as their polarity is very different.
