Human transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis
Cell Line Description
UM-UC-14 was derived from a transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis. UM-UC-14 produced tumours in athymic nude mice after 9 days. Susceptibility to adenoviral mediated gene transduction and expression of p53, p16, retinoblastoma protein and coxsackie adenovirus receptor were studied

Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
