General description

Recombinant target proteins are often expressed as a fusion product with Glutathione-S-Transferase (GST) tags using various expression vector constructs. Thus, antibodies directed against the GST tags of the recombinant constructs can facilitate the purification and study of target proteins.
The antibody is specific for native as well as denatured-reduced forms of glutathione-S-transferase from Schistosoma japonicum. Anti-GST may be used in various immunoassays to identify the expression of GST fusion proteins.

Immunogen

recombinant GST from Schistosoma japonicum expressed in E. coli.

Application

Alkaline phosphatase (AP) conjugated anti-GST antibodies have been used as probes for western blot assays. The product can also be used for direct ELISA (1:400).
Purification of GST-SfMannIII from Sf9 insect cells was confirmed by western blot using rabbit anti-GST antibody. Gst-SfMan I was purified from over-expressing SF/SWT-1 cells and ran on SDS-page fell for western blot analysis using rabbit anti-GST as the primary antibody. Alkaline phosphatase-conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (Sigma) was used as the secondary antibody.

Physical form

Solution supplied in 0.05 M Tris buffer, pH 8.0, containing 1 mM MgCl2, 1% BSA, and 15 mM sodium azide.
