General description

ADAM is a member of the A Distintegrin and Metalloproteinase family of proteins which possess both adhesion and zinc protease functions. ADAM-10 is a sheddase with both a secreted and membrane-bound form. ADAM-10 null mice are embryonically lethal with nural and cardiac defects.
In immunoblotting, an 80-85 kDa band can be detected, which may represent the precursor proform. A 60 kDa faint band may be detected in some cell lines including Jurkat, which appears to be the processed mature protein. Also, bands at below 50 kDa may be seen.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 732-748 of human ADAM-10. The sequence is identical to bovine and rat and differs by one amino acid in mouse.

Application

Rabbit anti-ADAM-10, C-terminal antibody can be used for immunoblotting assays at dilutions ranging from 1:500-1:2,000.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
