The γ-Secretase Inhibitor VI, also referenced under CAS 287196-57-0, controls the biological activity of γ-Secretase. This small molecule/inhibitor is primarily used for Neuroscience applications.
A potent, cell-permeable inhibitor of γ-secretase that blocks the formation of Aβ42 (IC50 = 1.8 µM). Treatment of HEK293 cells with γ-secretase inhibitor VI results in an increase in β-secretase-cleaved, APP fragments and secreted APPSα, but no change in secreted APPSβ, indicating a specific inhibition of γ-secretase activity.
Cell permeable. Potently inhibits Aβ42 production (IC50 = 1.8 µM). Treatment of HEK293 cells with this inhibitor results in β-Secretase-cleaved APP fragments and secreted APPα, but no change in secreted APPsβ is observed indicating specific inhibition of γ-secretase.
