Application

14:0 Diether PG might be used in biotinylated liposome preparation. It is also suitable for use in the preparation of solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (SSNMR) samples.

Biochem/physiol Actions

1,2-di-O-tetradecyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol) or 14:0 Diether PG is an anionic lipid used for bicelle preparations. Bicelles can be integrated into standard crystallization protocols and in contrast to micelles, bicelles maintain the protein in a more native bilayer environment allowing proteins to be captured in a more biologically relevant orientation.
