General description

Anti-GPR18 antibody detects endogenous levels of total GPR18 protein. G protein-coupled receptor 18 (GPR18) is made up of 331 amino acids. GPR18 mRNA is located in murine spleen, bone marrow, thymus, lung and cerebellar tissue. This gene is located on human chromosome 13q32.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GPR18.

Immunogen Range: 191-240

Biochem/physiol Actions

G protein-coupled receptor 18 (GPR18) participates in cell migration and apoptosis. It modulates mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) activity and immune stimulation.

Sustained microglial activation and increased pro-inflammatory signalling cause chronic inflammation and neuronal damage in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Resolution of inflammation follows neutralization of pathogens and is a response to limit damage and promote healing, mediated by pro-resolving lipid mediators (LMs).
