Gene Information

human ... HIST1H3A(8350)

General description

Histone cluster 1 H3A (HIST1H3A) belongs to the H3 histone family. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 6.
Monoclonal Anti-Histone H3 (C-terminal) (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma H6.10 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C terminal region of human Histone H3, conjugated to KLH.

Immunogen

a synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C terminal region of human Histone H3.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Histone H3 (C-terminal) antibody has been used in
  • immunoblotting
  • immunofluorescence
  • western blotting

Biochem/physiol Actions

H3.1 (Histone 3-variant 1) is involved in gene silencing as well as gene activation. Histones H3 and H4 are the predominant histones subjected to extensive covalent modifications. Mutations in histone H3 were identified in various tumors.
Histone cluster 1 H3A (HIST1H3A) has been associated with DNA replication.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
