Gene Information

human ... ACRC(93953)

General description

The gene ACRC (acidic repeat containing) is mapped to human chromosome Xq13.1 and contains at least 12 exons and 11 introns. It contains a characteristic acidic repeat region of 21 units of 8–10 amino acids. It is expressed ubiquitously, including skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, and brain, with the highest expression in skeletal muscle.

Immunogen

ACRC (NP_443189.1, 592 a.a. ~ 691 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The gene ACRC (acidic repeat containing) is localized on a critical region that harbors the disease locus for X-linked dystonia parkinsonism (XDP). However, mutation analysis in this gene does not implicate it in the disease.
