RbAOSMC from Cell Applications, Inc. were used to demonstrate that anti-restenosis drug probucol inhibition of vascular smooth cell proliferation by enhancing apoptosis and inducing heme oxygenase-1 (Deng, 2004). RbAOSMC were also used to evaluate performance of a novel pH/CO2 sensor system for measuring metabolic activity of cultured cells (Mohri, 2006); and to characterize the receptor pharmacology, antiplatelet activity, and vascular pharmacology of APD791, a novel 5-HT2A receptor antagonist (Adams, 2009).Characterization: positive for smooth muscle cell specific alpha-actin expression.
