Biochem/physiol Actions
Ral B (21 kDa, native), a member of the Ras-like GTP binding protein family, is a crucial link in intracellular signaling cascades.
Ral B has been implicated in invasion and metastasis of human cancer cells. Reports have shown that depletion of Ral B by siRNA results in significantly reduced migration rates of tumor cells, while constitutively active Ral B promoted migration.
Other Notes
GST-tagged Ras-like fusion protein

The Ral family of small G proteins has been implicated in tumorigenesis, invasion, and metastasis. However, little emphasis has been placed on clarifying the individual roles of the two Ral proteins, RalA and RalB, in these processes in view of

Small GTP-binding proteins (G proteins) exist in eukaryotes from yeast to human and constitute a superfamily consisting of more than 100 members. This superfamily is structurally classified into at least five families: the Ras, Rho, Rab, Sar1/Arf, and Ran families.
