Neuropeptide FF receptor 1 (NPFF1) is a receptor for the protein RFamide-related peptide-3 (RFRP-3). It is expressed in the ovaries and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 10q21.
Immunogen
peptide corresponding to the C-terminal sequence (amino acids 418-430) and N-terminal sequence (amino acids 1-16) of the NPFF1 protein.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Neuropeptide FF receptor 1 (NPFF1) along with its ligand, prevents gonadotropin signaling.
Physical form
Solution of 1 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

RFamide-related peptide-3 (RFRP-3), a mammalian ortholog of avian gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone, has pronounced inhibitory effects on reproduction in a number of species. RFRP-3 suppresses gonadotropin release at the hypothalamic and/or pituitary levels; however, increasing evidence also suggests putative functions within the
