The heterohybridoma AFRC 84B4 is one of 8 hybridoma cell lines obtained using lymphocytes from ponies immunised with influenza A equine 2 virus (isolateA/Equine/Newmarket/79 (H3N8)). For the establishment of AFRC 84B4 horse cells from the sub-mandibular lymph node have been fused with the non-Ig-secreting heterohybridoma AFRC 17D1 (Sigma Catalogue number. 94120825).
