Arg-Gly-Asp

General description

Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) is an integrin binding site,[1] which belongs to the class of adhesive proteins.[2] It functions as a brain tumor targeting ligand.[3]

Application

Arg-Gly-Asp has been used:
  • to saturate the cell surface Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) receptors and inhibit marrow stromal cell (MSC) attachment to peptide modified hydrogel[4]
  • in adhesion assay[5]
  • in inhibition assay to confirm the β1-integrin-dependency of cell adhesion[6]
  • in textile fabrication and RGD textile functionalization[7]
  • to engineer a population of human dermal fibroblasts with impaired migration[8]
  • to modify glass substrate and evaluate the behavior of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSCs)[9]
  • in the cell culture of human mammary epithelial cells[10]

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. Can this peptide be filtered through a 0.2 um filter?

    1 answer
    1. This product is soluble in water (20 to 50 mg/ml) and in 0.1 N acetic acid (20 mg/ml). The filter used was CA (cellulose acetate, PES, Nylon, and PVDF). It is recommended to use low protein binding filter. Here are the protein binding characteristics for syringe filter materials:

  2. Stability of RGD in DNAase-free water and stored at -80 up to what time it remain stable?

    1 answer
    1. The solution stability of this product has not been evaluated. Several commercial sources have reported that RGD peptides are stable up to 3 months at 4 deg. C. Other sources note that solutions are only stable for 24 hours. No information is available on storage at -80 C. The solution storage of this product would have to be determined by the end user.
