DNase ID Membrane is a substrate-carrying ID membrane used for rapid identification of deoxyribonuclease (DNAse) activity of bacteria, especially for identification of pathogenic Staphylococci through characteristic color reactions. The membranes contain chromogenic substrates, which serve as the basis for microbe differentiation by color. The principle is based on an enzyme reaction in which specific DNase-producing Staphylococcus sp. will exhibit pink zones around blue color colonies.
Application
DNase ID Membrane is used for rapid identification of deoxyribonuclease (DNAse) activity of bacteria, especially for identification of pathogenic Staphylococci in water and food samples. They find their application in various sectors such as the food and dairy industry, water industry, pharmaceutical laboratory testing, cosmetic industry, environmental and sanitary testing, clinical diagnostic, etc.
Analysis Note
Staphylococcus aureus (25923) - Pink zone around the colony, DNase positive
