Gene Information

human ... AGR2(10551)

General description

Anterior gradient protein 2 homolog (AGR2) (also known as secreted cement gland protein XAG-2 homolog) is thought to be a metastasis-inducing protein in breast cancer models and may be used as a means of detecting the outcome of hormonally treated patients with breast cancer. AGR2 may also play an important role in intestinal mucus production. Recent researched has also linked AGR2 to metastasis. Lower levels of AGR expression in prostate cancer may be highly predictive of the reoccurrence of disease even after a prostatectomy.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human AGR2.

Application

Detect AGR2 using this Anti-AGR2 Antibody, clone 5G1.1 validated for use in western blotting & IHC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected AGR2 in human stomach and human ileum tissue.

The gastrointestinal epithelium plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis with the gut microbiome. Mucins are essential for intestinal barrier function and serve as a scaffold for antimicrobial factors. Mucin 2 (MUC2) is the major intestinal gel-forming mucin produced predominantly
