General description

Glutamate receptor 1 (AMPA) belongs to the glutamate-gated ion channel and binds AMPA, glutamate and kainate. L-Glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the mammalian CNS, acting through both ligand gated ion channels (ionotropic receptors; composed of subunits GluR1-4) and G-protein coupled (metabotropic) receptors. The AMPA glutamate receptors mediate fast synaptic transmission in the CNS.

Specificity

Recognizes Glutamate Receptor 1 [GluR1], phosphoSe845. The antibody recognizes a protein of 100 kDa corresponding to GluR1 phosphorylated at Ser845.

Immunogen

Epitope: phosphoSer 845
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids surrounding the phosphoSer845 of rat GluR1.

Application

Anti-Glutamate Receptor 1 Antibody, phosphoSer 845 is an antibody against Glutamate Receptor 1 for use in WB.
