Specific for the NMDAR1 containing the C2′ splice variant insert. The antibody does not recognize the NMDAR1 subunits of the NMDA receptor that do not contain the C2′ insert. By Western blot the antibody recognizes a protein with molecular weight of 120 kDa. Also labels a single higher molecular weight band that may be a posttranslationally modified form of the protein.
