Gene Information

human ... SLC9A1(6548)

Specificity

Recognizes Na+/H+ Exchanger 1 (NHE1). The immunogen peptide shows no significant homology with other NHE isoforms (NHE2-5).

Immunogen

A 22 aa peptide within the cytoplasmic, C-terminal domain of rat NHE1, coupled to KLH.

Application

Detect Na+/H+ Exchanger-1 using this Anti-Na+/H+ Exchanger-1 Antibody validated for use in ELISA & WB.
Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using Chemiluminescence technique.

ELISA: 1:100,000 using 50-100 ng control peptide per well.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

The myocardial Na(+)/H(+) exchanger-1 (NHE1) plays a major role in regulation of intracellular pH, and its upregulation has been implicated in increased ischemia-reperfusion injury and other pathologies. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) increases NHE1 activity acutely via ERK1/2 signaling. Chronic strenuous exercise

Fully-activated Na+/H+ exchanger-1 (NHE1) generates the cardiomyocyte's largest trans-membrane extrusion of H+ ions for an equimolar influx of Na+ ions. This has the desirable effect of clearing excess intracellular acidity, but comes at a large energetic premium because the exchanged

Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) critically contributes to inflammation and host defense. The inhibition of heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) prevents iNOS induction in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages. However, the role and mechanism of endogenous Hsp70 in iNOS induction in microglia
