Description

General description

Recombinant, human RANTES expressed in E. coli. RANTES (regulated on activation, normal T cell expressed and secreted) is a member of the β (C-C) chemokine family. Chemoattractant for unstimulated CD4⁺/CD45RO⁺ memory T cells. Induces Ca²⁺ mobilization in T cells. Acts as an antigen-independent activator of T cells in vitro.

Biochem/physiol Actions

ED₅₀ = 5-20 ng/ml as determined by the dose-dependent chemotaxis of THP-1 cells.

Physical form

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-70°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -70°C.

Reconstitute with sterile dH₂O to a final concentration of 100-500 µg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in medium or buffered solution containing carrier protein, such as PBS with 0.1% BSA.
