General description

Anti-Aquaporin 5, rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP 5 protein in epithelial tissue extracts. It is validated for ELISA, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry.
Immunoaffinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP5 protein.
Recognizes the ~28 kDa AQP 5 protein in epithelial tissue extracts.

Immunogen

a synthetic peptide corresponding to a 17-amino acid sequence in the cytoplasmic region of rat AQP5

Application

ELISA (0.5-1.0 µg/ml)

Immunoblotting (1-10 µg/ml)

Immunofluorescence (2-20 µg/ml)

Immunohistochemistry (2-20 µg/ml)

Packaging

Please refer to vial label for lot-specific concentration.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Analysis Note

Positive Control
Epithelial cells

Other Notes

Does not cross-react with other AQP proteins. The use of 0.5-1.0% milk in all primary/secondary antibody-enzyme conjugate incubations is recommended in order to suppress non-specific bands. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the optimal working dilution.

Aquaporins (AQPs) are essential to coordinate the transit of water and ions through the cell membrane. In salivary glands (SGs), AQPs have been associated with saliva formation, facilitating water absorption through the epithelium during the formation of hypotonic saliva, which
