Specificity
Although IL-12p70 was detectable in rat, mouse, monkey, canine, and feline plasma, the assay has not been validated for these species.
Cross Reactivity:
Cross-reactivity to interferons of other types was tested using SMC® Human IL-12p70 High Sensitivity Immunoasay Kit with the following results:
- rhIL-12p40 was found to be < 2.0% cross-reactive
- rhIL-23 was found to be < 1.5% cross-reactive
- rhILp35 was not found to be cross-reactive
Accuracy
- Minimum of 5 serum samples spiked with average recovery of 103% with a range of 100-106%
- Minimum of 5 plasma samples spiked with average recovery of 97% with a range of 84-102%
Application
This new streamline kit has been improved with the following features over the legacy IL-12 kit, #03-0057-00:
- Improved options for sample prep and incubation
- Lyophilization of the standard provides the kit at one storage condition
- Removal of a plate transfer step
- Increased reagent volumes to accommodate automation
- Validated to run on both SMCxPRO® and Erenna
- Matched to WHO standard
