General description

Indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene belongs to the class of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), also called as polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons or polyarenes, which are regarded as potential pollutants in the environment. PAHs are typically produced due to natural as well as anthropogenic activities; incomplete combustion of the organic matter being the predominant cause.

Application

Indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene may be used as an analytical standard for the quantification of the analyte in sewage sludge, solvent solutions and food extracts, water, and oil samples by various chromatography techniques.
