General description

Zinc powder is a fine, powdery substance made up of small particles (<150 micrometers) of the element zinc. Zinc powder is grey or silvered-colored and may have a metallic sheen. Because of the high-purity of this zinc powder, with very small concentration of trace metal impurities, it is suitable for the production of electronic components and semiconductor materials, for use as a catalyst in chemical reactions, and for research and testing.

Application

High purity zinc powder, with a particle size of less than 150 μm and a 99.995% trace metals basis, is a valuable material in several industrial and academic applications that require high purity levels. Due to its purity level, this zinc powder is specifically suitable for use in the production of semiconductors, where it serves as a dopant material in the manufacture of zinc oxide films. The high purity level ensures that it does not introduce impurities that could affect the performance of the semiconductor. High purity zinc powder is also essential in the production of metal powders using powder metallurgy techniques. It is mixed with other metal powders to produce alloys such as brass and bronze powders, which are commonly used in the manufacturing of automotive parts, industrial machinery, and electrical components. The high purity level ensures that the final product has the desired mechanical properties and does not introduce any impurities. In addition, high purity zinc powder is used as a reducing agent in various chemical reactions, such as the production of organic compounds and pharmaceuticals. The high purity level ensures that the final product is free from any contaminants that could impact its quality or effectiveness.
