4,4′-Dimethoxybenzhydrol causes N-alkylation of amides, lactams, carbamates, ureas and anilines in acetic acid during H2SO4 catalysis[1].
Application
4,4′-Dimethoxybenzhydrol was used to study the kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of substituted benzhydrols to corresponding benzophenones in the presence of Hg(OAc)2 by N-bromosuccinimide[2].
