General description

Ammonium phosphate dibasic is a water-soluble ammonium phosphate salt. It is a key component of phosphate fertilizers. It is commonly used as a flame retardant for plywood, paper, and fabrics, as well as a corrosion inhibitor consolidant for degraded carbonatic materials found in old buildings.

Application

Ammonium phosphate dibasic can be used as a catalyst:
  • To synthesize tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyranderivatives via three‐component condensation reaction.
  • In the solvent-free Biginelli reactions.
  • To synthesize bis(indolyl)methanes via solvent-free reaction of indole derivatives and aromatic or aliphatic aldehydes.
