Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) is commonly used as an antiknock agent in gasoline.[1] It is also used as an additive in unleaded gasoline.

Application

Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl can be used for doping of ZnSe nanocrystals.[2]
It can also be used as a reactant for:
  • Aldol addition reactions.[3]
  • Preparation of homo- and heteronuclear mixed biscarbene complexes with conjugated bithiophene units.[4]
  • Molecular fragmentation using shaped femtosecond laser pulses.[5]
  • Preparation of MnAs thin films grown on GaAs(001) by metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE).[6]
