How Transfection Works

Methods for Transient and Stable Transfection

Transfection is the process that introduces DNA or RNA into eukaryotic cells. It is a common and essential method to study and modulate gene regulation, which allows for a better understanding of gene function and protein expression within the context of the cell. Transfection can be used for analysis of regulation of gene expression and production of recombinant proteins – making it a critical link between the study of genomics and proteomics. Watch our brief webinar to learn the basics of transfection, including commonly used methods, parameters to consider during your experiment, and reagent selection.
