General description

Anti-LMTK2 antibody detects endogenous levels of total LMTK2 protein.
Lemur tyrosine kinase 2 (LMTK2) is a serine/threonine kinase, located in endosomal compartments. It is also termed as BREK (brain-enriched kinase), AATYK-2 (apoptosis-associated tyrosine kinase 2), cdk5, KPI-2 and Cprk. It is expressed at high levels in the plasma membrane. LMTK2 consists of 1503 amino acids and is located on human chromosome 7q21.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human LMTK2.

Immunogen Range: 651-700

Application

Anti-LMTK2 antibody has been used in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Lemur tyrosine kinase 2 (LMTK2) participates in endosomal membrane trafficking and neuronal physiology. It also participates in the differentiation of tissues and acts as a negative regulator of nerve growth factor (NGF)-induced neuronal differentiation.

Lemur tyrosine kinase 2 (LMTK2) belongs to both protein kinase and tyrosine kinase families. LMTK2 is less studied and little is known about its function. Here we demonstrate that LMTK2 modulates NF-κB activity and functions to promote colonic tumorigenesis. We

Lemur tyrosine kinase 2 (LMTK2) is a transmembrane Ser/Thr kinase whose role has been increasingly recognized; however, when compared to other kinases, understanding of the LMTK2 networks and biological functions is still limited. Recent data have shown that transforming growth
