Modified Giemsa stain means when the pH of the Giemsa stain is changed from the usual 6.8 to 9.0.[1]
Application
Modified Giemsa stain may be used for the identification of each human chromosome by differentials staining.[1]
Other Notes
Giemsa stain, modified, 0.4%, w/v, in buffered methanol solution, pH 6.8. Also contains stabilizers.
Principle
When blood films are stained using Giemsa Stain, the nucleus and cytoplasm of white blood cells take on characteristic blue or pink coloration. The use of purified eosin and thiazine dyes minimizes lot-to-lot variation.
Faciogenital Dysplasia 1 (FGD1) has been involved in a variety of biological processes, including cytoskeleton restructuring, cell morphology, cell cycle progression, and cell polarity. Abnormal expression of FGD1 was also identified in several types of cancers, indicating its critical role
Twist-related protein 1 (TWIST1) plays an essential role in the carcinogenesis and metastasis of NSCLC. Our aims were to identify the molecule at the downstream of TWIST1 and to evaluate its potential as a diagnostic and a prognostic marker in

Differential staining of human chromosomes can be obtained when the pH of Giemsa stain is changed to 9.0 from the usual 6.8. Such staining permits identification of all homolog pairs and distinct regions within chromosome arms. In most instances, the

LINC00963 is high-expressed in various carcinomas, but its expression and function in colorectal cancer (CRC) have not been explored. This study explored the role and mechanism of LINC00963 in CRC. The expression of LINC00963 in CRC and its relationship with
Replication stress, a hallmark of cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions, is linked to structural chromosomal aberrations. Recent studies demonstrated that it could also lead to numerical chromosomal instability (CIN). The mechanism, however, remains elusive. Here, we show that inducing replication stress
