Application

Ammonia gas is a common reagent or reactant in the synthesis of variety of nitrogen containing inorganic compounds and organic intermediates. It is either used directly in gas phase reaction or bubbled through the reaction mixture.
  • Ammonia can be used in the direct synthesis of primary amines from alcohols.
  • Synthesis of N-doped graphene by vapor deposition in the presence of ammonia gas has been reported.

Nitrogen-doped graphene (N-graphene) was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition of methane in the presence of ammonia. The resultant N-graphene was demonstrated to act as a metal-free electrode with a much better electrocatalytic activity, long-term operation stability, and tolerance to crossover
