General description
The BioTracker™ Dual-Color Mitochondria-Lysosome Live Cell Dye (Coupa) is a fluorescent probe used to detect mitochondria-lysosome interactions (Chen, 2020).
Mitochondrial-lysosomal interactions are fundamental to the processes of cellular homeostasis. Mitochondria and lysosomes have unique interactions which involve transfer of metabolites. Some disease pathogenesis can be linked to this important subcellular interaction (Chen, 2020). This BioTracker™ live cell probe is a unique cell-permeable and viscosity-responsive molecular probe that is capable of monitoring mitochondrial and lysosomal interactions in living cells. Through fluorescence conversion, this BioTracker™ dual color probe can simultaneously tag mitochondria with blue fluorescence and lysosomes with red fluorescence.
Spectral Properties
Fluorescence images obtained by λex = 405 nm and emission at 450 nm (Mitochondria) and λex = 561nm and emission at 590nm (Lysosome)
