La disolución de insulina humana se ha utilizado para la prueba de tolerancia a la insulina en ratones y ratas.[1][2] También se ha utilizado para la diferenciación adipogénica de cultivos de células madre embrionarias humanas (hESC) y hMSCs (células del estroma mesenquimatoso humano).[3][4]

For research applications, freezing insulin solution has been a common pratice. However, solutions available on the commercial market for therapeutic use are never frozen, in order to maintain maximum activity.
