NQO1（NAD(P)H醌脱氢酶1）以NADH或NADPH为还原辅因子，具有双香豆素抑制作用。人们认为它可以抵抗天然和外源性醌的作用。[1]它参与将苯衍生的醌转化为毒性较小的对苯二酚，还参与苯相关的血液毒性作用。它参与了一些化疗药物和环境致癌物的还原和最终激活，如杂环胺、硝基芳香化合物和可能的香烟烟雾微粒。[2]该基因的C609T空变异与北印度患者的乳腺癌易感性有关。[4]NQO1在浆液性卵巢癌中表达上调，这种表达与预后不良有关，因此该基因有可能作为其生物标志物。[5]
