Lasu1/Ureb1 is an E3 ubiquitin protein ligase that mediates the ubiquitination of core histones, Mcl-1, Cdc6, and p53. Lasu1/Ureb1 expression is regulated during spermatogenesis and appears to play a role in chromatin modification in germ cells as well as other tissues.
