一般描述

黄绿素蓝是一种可渗透细胞的染料,可染色活细胞。进入细胞后,细胞内酯酶裂解乙酰氧基甲基(AM)酯基团,产生膜不透水的黄绿素蓝荧光染料。黄绿素蓝的染色应用包括肿瘤组织、矿化组织、骨骼、氨基酸等。

应用

黄绿素蓝用于骨矿化切片的荧光标记。黄绿素蓝的AM酯水解成黄绿素蓝适合作为一种活性染色剂,既可用于显微镜,也可用于荧光激活的细胞分选系统中。还用作活细胞的集合,如神经肌肉接头处的雪旺细胞。

  1. Is Calcein Blue identical to Calcein Blue AM, and if not, what is the difference? Would it be compatible in a flourescent microscopy assay looking at %viability of THP-1 cells?

    1. product M1255, Calcein Blue to is used to stain cells, but it will stain living or dead cells. For a cell viability stain, one can use Calcein Blue AM. The difference between Calcein Blue and Calcein Blue AM is the methyl-iminodiaceitc acid group that chelates the divalent metal has acetoxymethyl esters on it in Calcein Blue AM. The esters are cleaved inside of viable cells, but remain on the molecule in the absence of active esterases. So, if you use M1255 it will stain all the cell whether alive or dead.
