一般描述

Tescalcin (TESC) is an EF-hand calcium binding protein. It is expressed in human primary hematopoietic progenitor cells. TESC is part of the calcineurin homologous protein (CHP) family. It has a molecular weight of 24kDa. The TESC gene is localized on human chromosome 12q24.22.

应用

生化/生理作用

Tescalcin (TESC) is expressed in colorectal cancer and has a role in cancer cell invasion and migration. Studies indicate that TESC acts as a modulator of cellular pH and that it suppresses the phosphatase activity of calcineurin A. The protein may regulate the activity of Na⁺/H⁺-exchange protein 1 (NHE1).
