Anti-EDEM1 recognizes glycoslylated human and mouse EDEM1 with molecular weight 75 kDa and nonglycosylated human and mouse EDEM1 with a molecular weight 65 kDa.
ER degradation-enhancing alpha-mannosidase-like 1 (EDEM1) is an enzyme encoded by the EDEM1 gene in humans. In mammalian cells, EDEM1 is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), mainly as a soluble glycoprotein.
免疫原
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 629-646 of human EDEM1, conjugated to KLH via an N-terminal cysteine residue. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse EDEM1.
应用
Anti-EDEM1 antibody has been used in immunoblotting.
Anti-EDEM1 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for the following applications:
Immunoprecipitation at a concentration of 0.5-1.0μg using extract HEK-293T cells expressing recombinant mouse EDEM1 protein.
Western blotting at a concentration of 0.5-1.0μg/mL using whole extracts of HEK-293T cells expressing recombinant human EDEM1.

生化/生理作用
ER degradation-enhancing alpha-mannosidase-like 1 (EDEM1), a putative mannose binding lectin, targets misfolded glycoproteins for degradation in an N-glycan dependent manner. It interacts with the C-terminus of calnexin and lacks mannosidase activity.
ER degradation-enhancing alpha-mannosidase-like 1 is an enzyme encoded by the EDEM1 gene in humans. It is a chaperone for rod opsin and its expression can be used to promote correct folding enhancing degradation of mutant proteins in the ER to combat protein-misfolding disease. The endogenous EDEM1 in cells that are not stressed by the expression of a transgenic misfolded protein reaches the cytosol and is degraded by basal autophagy. EDEM may maintain the retrotranslocation competence of NHK by inhibiting aggregation. It is also considered responsible for directing aberrant proteins for ERAD (ER-associated protein degradation).

ER degradation-enhancing α-mannosidase-like 1 protein (EDEM1) is involved in the routing of misfolded glycoproteins for degradation in the cytoplasm. Previously, we reported that EDEM1 leaves the endoplasmic reticulum via non-COPII vesicles (Zuber et al. in Proc Natl Acad Sci USA

Redundant and antagonistic roles of XTP3B and OS9 in decoding glycan and non-glycan degrons in ER-associated degradation
Coronaviruses (CoV), including SARS and mouse hepatitis virus (MHV), are enveloped RNA viruses that induce formation of double-membrane vesicles (DMVs) and target their replication and transcription complexes (RTCs) on the DMV-limiting membranes. The DMV biogenesis has been connected with the
