Methyl chloroacetate can find applications as a solvent in the liquid-liquid extraction of neutral compounds like alkylphenones, separated using micellar electrokinetic chromatography.Methyl chloroacetate may be used as a precursor for the synthesis of d3-labeled dimethoate, an internal standard used for the quantification of dimethoate in food samples using isotope dilution and liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MS/MS) with multiple reaction monitoring mode (MRM).
