Barium Carbonate (BaCO₃) is one of the commercially important barium compounds. It is widely used in ceramics, paints, enamels, plastics, etc. It is particularly of interest in dental and lighting applications.[1]

应用

Barium carbonate (BaCO₃) can be used as a starting material to prepare:

• SiO₂-BaO composites for use as inorganic filler materials in dental composite resins[2][3]
• silicate-containing ceramic glasses for dental applications[4]
• commercial phosphors for solid-state lighting (SSL) applications, especially light-emitting diodes (LEDs)[5][6][7]

It can also be used as a cation source for isovalent substitution in yellow phosphor hosts employed in solid-state white lighting applications.[8]
