1-(6-(dimethylamino)naphthalen-2-yl) dodecan-1-one or Laurdan is a derivative of naphthalene and is a fluorescent membrane probe.[1][2] It is present at the hydrophilic-hydrophobic interface of the lipid bilayer, wherein the lauric acid tail is attached attached in the phospholipid acyl chain area.[2]

生化/生理作用

1-(6-(dimethylamino)naphthalen-2-yl) dodecan-1-one or Laurdan exhibits spectral sensitivity to phospholipid phase state.[2] It also exhibits fluorescence property.[3] Laurdan is implicated in bilayer property studies of natural and artificial membranes due to its sensitivity to solvent relaxation effect.[4]
