一般說明

16:1 (Δ9-Cis) PC (1,2-dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) is a lipid derivative having a phosphocholine backbone. It also has two 16 carbon fatty acid chains each having one cis double bond at 9th carbon.
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.

應用

16:1 (Δ9-Cis) PC (1,2-dipalmitoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used to prepare giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), to prepare multilamellar vesicles (MLVs), in lipid membrane to study the antibiotic activity of the lantibiotic gallidermin.

生化/生理作用

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is known to participate in fusion and transport of membranes.

Attachment of lipophilic groups is an important post-translational modification of proteins, which involves the coupling of one or more anchors such as fatty acids, isoprenoids, phospholipids, or glycosylphosphatidyl inositols. Lipid bilayers form the basis of cell membranes and the phase behaviour of the membrane has been linked to proper cell function. Model membranes composed of relatively simple mixtures of phospholipids and cholesterol can already exhibit complex phase behaviour. Specifically
