The γ-Secretase Inhibitor XVI, also referenced under CAS 208255-51-0, controls the biological activity of γ-Secretase. This small molecule/inhibitor is primarily used for Neuroscience applications.
A cell-permeable γ-secretase inhibitor that inhibits Aβ secretion (IC50 ~10 nM) by 7PA2 cells (CHO cell line stably transfected with APP751 containing V717F familial Alzheimer′s disease mutation) in a dose-dependent manner. Also exhibits anti-aggregation properties by selectively blocking Aβ dimer and trimer formation and subsequently preventing early Aβ oligomerization.
