Plasma levels of β-thromboglobulin directly correlate to the level of platelet activity and can be measured to determine platelet activity. [1]

β-thromboglobulin was shown to inhibit megakaryocyte colony formation C. PMID 1825299

Heparin binding protein that is used as a platelet activation marker.
