General description

Lanthanum(III) nitrate hydrate is a white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water. It is also utilized in various fields such as catalysts, ceramics, and as a source of lanthanum ions in chemical synthesis.

Application

Lanthanum(III) nitrate hydrate can be used:

• As a starting material to synthesize lanthanum zirconate nanoparticles.
• As a precursor to prepare luminescent lanthanum-tricarboxytriphenylamine (La-TCA) coordination polymer nanosheets.
• To fabricate perovskite oxide-type LaFeO₃ dendrites for chemical sensors.
• To synthesize LaMnO₃ perovskite catalysts by using citric acid sol–gel method and La_0.6Sr_0.4MnO₃ perovskites via coprecipitation method. The LaMnO₃ perovskite catalysts has used for the oxidation of propane for emission control of hydrocarbon volatile organic compounds.
