Early detection of apoptotic cells via caspase activity is demonstrated with fast response time. Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) is used to identify the presence of a cleaved fluorogenic probe based on the fluorescence of rhodamine 110 in Jurkat cells. FCS

Questions

  1. What colour when soluble in water?

    1 answer
    1. Rhodamine 123 Choride is generally described as a green fluorescent dye. Excitation is around the 496-500 nm range. Excitation is around 520-522 nm. There is no specification for color once the dye is dissolved in a solvent.

The colour of Rhodamine 110 Chloride in solid form is highly variable. The specification for 432202 states the color should be:
Brown to Very Dark Brown and Red to Very Dark Red and Red-Brown and Very Dark Red-Brown and Green to Very Dark Green.

Rhodamine 110 chloride is only sparingly soluble in water. During quality control, product 432202 is dissolved in water at only 0.003 grams per liter. It is not advised to store Rhodamine 110 solutions dissolved in water. Solutions must be used fresh. Solubility is better in DMSO, DMF, Methanol and Ethanol.
