General description

Lead(II) acetate trihydrate is a widely used in the field of textile dyeing, varnishes, waterproofing and insecticides.[1]

Application

Desulfurization reagent; also used as neutralization of HCl.
Lead(II) acetate trihydrate is used:
  • In the preparation of lead lanthanum zirconate stannate titanate (PbLa(ZrSnTi)O3) antiferroelectric (AFE) ceramics for dielectric capacitors[2]
  • As a precursor to synthesize lead chalcogenides such as lead sulfide (PbS), lead selenide (PbSe) and lead telluride (PbTe) nanostructures.[3][4][5]
  • In the synthesis of organic-inorganic halide perovskites (OIHPs) as optoelectronic materials for solar cells and light-emitting diodes.[6]
