Aplicación

Mercury(II) sulfate can be used as a catalyst in the presence of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) for the:
  • Direct oxidation of methane to methanol.
  • Hydration of alkynes to the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
  • Conversion of alkyl protected glycals into their corresponding α,β-unsaturated enals (Perlin aldehydes).
