General description

Gamma-aminobutyric acid type A (GABAA) receptors are members of the neurotransmitter ligand-gated ion channels that mediate neuronal inhibition on binding GABA. The effects of GABA on GABAA receptors are modulated by a range of therapeutically important drugs, including barbiturates, anaesthetics and benzodiazepines.

Specificity

Reacts with the β-chain of the GABAA receptor.

Immunogen

Epitope: Extracellular domain of the beta2 & beta3 subunits of the GABAA receptor
Purified GABA/benzodiazepine receptor from bovine cortex

Application

Detect GABA A Receptor β 2 using this Anti-GABA A Receptor β 2, 3 Chain Antibody, clone BD17 validated for use in IH, IP & WB.
Immunohistochemistry:
A 10-20 μg/mL concetration of a previous lot was used in IH.

Immunoprecipitation:
A previous lot of this antibody was used in IP.

Western blot:
5-20 µg/mL. Recognizes a 55 kDa band corresponding to the beta chain of the GABAA receptor.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot on mouse brain membrane lysates.

Western Blot:
1:500 dilution of this antibody detected GABA A Receptor β 2,3 Chain on 10 μg of mouse brain membrane lysates.
